Our 16-week Kindergarten Reading Program helps students transition from recognizing letters and sounds to decoding words and reading simple sentences. Students attend two 45-minute live lessons per week (32 lessons total) in small cohorts of up to 6 students.
Students develop essential early reading skills, including:
-
Phonemic Awareness: Blending, segmenting, and manipulating individual sounds.
-
Phonics & Decoding: Reading consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words, consonant blends, and common digraphs.
-
Short & Long Vowels: Recognizing vowel patterns and applying them when reading.
-
High-Frequency Words: Reading common words accurately and automatically.
-
Beginning Fluency: Reading simple sentences with increasing accuracy and confidence.
-
Reading Comprehension: Retelling stories, identifying key details, and answering questions about texts.
Our structured, Science of Reading-aligned instruction helps students develop the decoding skills necessary for independent reading.
Lesson recordings are available for review, additional practice, or missed classes.
