Our 16-week 2nd Grade Reading Program helps students strengthen their decoding accuracy, develop reading fluency, and deepen their understanding of increasingly complex texts. Students attend two 60-minute live lessons per week (32 lessons total) in small cohorts of up to 6 students.
Students develop skills in:
-
Advanced Phonics & Syllable Division: Applying the six syllable types and breaking apart multisyllabic words.
-
Morphology: Recognizing common prefixes, suffixes, and base words to decode and understand unfamiliar vocabulary.
-
Reading Fluency: Improving accuracy, pacing, phrasing, and expression.
-
Vocabulary: Understanding word meanings through context clues and word structure.
-
Reading Comprehension: Identifying main ideas, supporting details, story elements, and sequence.
-
Text Evidence: Locating information in a passage to support answers and explanations.
Our structured lessons combine word-level reading instruction with increasingly challenging comprehension activities to help students become accurate, confident, independent readers.
Lesson recordings are available for review, additional practice, or missed classes.
